The Winter Wedding of Laura and Stu
Wednesday 20th December 2017
A story of two childhood sweethearts who first met at school and have been together for 15 years!
The pair celebrated their wedding with us back in December, unfortunately a little too late for the snow, but that did not stop them creating their own winter wonderland! The day was inspired by their love of skiing, snow and winter; a beautiful display of white, cream and silver flowers , miniature wooden skis as cake toppers and their table plan designed on their favourite Ski Resorts! Not only this but the theme of their day tied in with not only how they got engaged, but how they will be spending their honeymoon! Can you imagine anything more perfect than being proposed to on top of a glacier in the stunning resort of Les Duex Alpes? But then also being able to spend your honeymoon skiing around Canada!
Brinsop Court was just the most perfect wedding venue for Laura and Stu. They wanted an exclusive use venue where they could celebrate over a few days allowing them to really enjoy the celebrations and spend time with their families. It also meant that they could have the ceremony and reception in the same location so guests did not have to travel to and from.
The house was full of festive cheer, decorated head to toe with a total of 17 Christmas Trees, twinkling stars and winter bouquets. From the moment Laura, Stu and their family and friends arrived at Brinsop Court, the log burners were lit, the kettle was on and they really did just seem to be right at home.
Something that was so lovely to see was that Laura and Stu really did make the day their own, and celebrated how they wanted to celebrate.
A few very wise words from Laura and Stu; ‘Have the Wedding that you want and don’t feel like you have to follow the traditions and rules of days gone by. This is a day for you and your partner and it needs to reflect who you are’. Laura and Stu, we could not agree more!
It has been so lovely to read such lovely words from Laura and Stu, and from their families and friends who were there to celebrate with them. Below we have asked Laura and Stu to provide us with just a little information about some of the suppliers they worked with to create such a memorable day, but we just wanted to share these special comments with you first.
We asked them what their favourite part of the day was, and here is what they said.
Laura; ‘walking down the aisle to meet Stu and seeing him stood there smiling. After being together since we were 15, this was a long time coming and my cheesy grins in the photos really show how happy I was!
Stu; ‘walking into the Banqueting Hall with all our families and friends cheering and clapping and celebrating with us’.
