Brinsop Court and Herefordshire as a Holiday DestinationPosted on Mon 04 Mar, 2013, by Amanda Ingham

It can be very refreshing to read about Herefordshire and Brinsop Court through other people's eyes, and we've had two reviews very recently to share.

The first is by Lisa Johnson who wrote a review for Red Online and the full review can be read here.

She was very complimentary about Ivy Cottage and I loved her description of emotions on arrival. She said "from the moment you step through the wooden porch of this little red brick-and-timber gamekeeper's cottage, you feel yourself decompressing."

ivy cottage at brinsopWhat was also really interesting was in her opening paragraphs about Herefordshire she referred to a couple of places to visit both of which are technically out of the county! She said "there's a lot more to Herefordshire than cattle - from glorious countryside and numerous vestiges of a rich and ancient history to the bookshops and antiques stores of Hay-on-Wye and Ludlow." Hay-on-Wye is in Powys and Ludlow is in Shropshire, but no matter we'll take the glory anyway!

The other recent review was contained in a blog by Bernadette Costello entitled The 10 secrets of Herefordshire. Her opening paragraphs suggest that Herefordshire is "one of the most glorious counties in Britain" and she also said "Over the years, Herefordshire's outstanding natural beauty has bewitched writers such as CS Lewis who fell in love with its Golden Valley" She gives a very thorough description of Brinsop Court and lots of photos.

A few weeks ago we also had a review in Grazia under their 'Gorgeous Group Getaways' article which you can find on our Facebook page.

Of course, if you are interested in other people's opinions the most popular site these days seems to be Trip Advisor and there are several reviews on there for all the Brinsop properties.

Below is a selection of comments from our very own visitors' books too.

"A wonderful stay for a group of old and dear friends, - couldn't have been more perfect - we loved it and will be back!"
The Stewarts, The Moulds, The Twiggs & The Norrisxx

"A huge privilege to stay in such luxury. The surrounding countryside has been a lovely experience for the little ones staying with us. We hope to return again very soon. Many thanks for such a welcome to your wonderful estate."
Thetfords, Greenings & Newtons, Kidderminster

"It was wonderful to come to a place like Brinsop Court to escape the stress of the past few weeks. We've had a fabulous holiday. Thanks to Ann & Jonathan for welcoming us & especially Jonathan for our guided tour. I expect we will return."
Hilton, Paula, Scarlett, Jonah & Bentley the Dog, North Somerset

To read all of them, just choose the property you are interested in and then click 'reviews'  - enjoy the browsing!
