Q&A with the couple
How long did it take you to plan your Wedding?
We originally had our Wedding planned for June 2021, however we made the decision to delay our Wedding until June 2022 due to COVID restrictions. We had more time to plan but we were still organising everything up to the day before. The planning never stopped!
When and how did you first meet?
On Tinder! We both swiped right in January 2017.
Who popped the big question/ how did they propose?
James proposed at the same place we had our first date, in a historic pub in Birmingham. There was a private pianist for us playing our favourite songs. The big surprise was both of our close families waiting to celebrate with us when we got home!
What was your favourite part about your big day?
Our favourite part of the day was our drinks reception after the ceremony, where we could relax, have a drink and chat to everyone.
What would you do differently about your Wedding?
We would try to relax and just enjoy the day more. It goes so quickly and you don’t always have time to take it all in. Also, you can’t plan for a heatwave like we had so you just have to go along with the weather!
Why did you pick Brinsop for your big day?
After looking at all different venues, Brinsop just felt like the right place. We loved that Brinsop has so much character and history in all the beautiful rooms and gardens. We actually booked Brinsop before the Knot barn was even built so it was exciting to see how this could be incorporated into our day. The team at Brinsop were so helpful throughout the planning process right up to and including the big day.
Ceremony
Located on Wordsworth Lawn, Caroline and James had an intimate Ceremony, with just over 25 guests. Although Wordsworth can seat over 180, it is the perfect outdoor location for smaller numbers too. With the Moat surrounding the lawn, endless views and the Manor House to the right hand side, the settings in this location are idyllic.
Drinks Reception
Caroline and James also opted for an outdoor Drinks Reception located, due to their Wedding being in June, the Cricket Pitch lawn was the most obvious choice. With a large Cedar Tree, ideal for shade and a close location to their Ceremony site- it created a relaxed feel, where guests could mingle outside on both the patios and lawns.

The Party
Before the Party began James and Caroline had a coffee bar up at the Knot Barn, which encouraged their guests to come from the house and get the Party started! They had Colin and Connie as their Wedding cakes and had these with their evening food. James and Caroline then retired to Bailey Parlour with their overnight guests to enjoy a midnight tipple and relaxed by the fire!
