It is the time of year when Herefordshire’s Cathedral Close and the city centre is transformed into a giant food festival site.
Last year, the festival was deemed a huge success and everyone is hoping that this can be repeated. There are more than 130 exhibitors and a range of celebrities turning up including the ever popular Paul Hollywood, the Fabulous Baker Brothers, Blanche Vaughan & Sea Legs Puppet Theatre with special guest CBeebies’ Mr Bloom!
Brinsop Court Estate has a special interest in the Food Festival. The Handmade Scotch Egg Company have been promoting us in their various campaigns this year and a weekend for two in Ivy Cottage has been offered as a prize. The draw will take place at the Festival which will be very exciting for one lucky winner!
Also at the Festival, the new recipe book, Made In Herefordshire will be launched and available for sale and as you know if you are a regular blog reader, we have an entry in the book – John Thornley’s Venison Stroganoff. By the way, this book is available now for pre-ordering and costs just £25 and I am sure will make a fab Christmas pressie.
On the same weekend as the Herefordshire Food Festival is the Round Table Fireworks display on the racecourse, full details can be found here. Gates open at 5.30 on Sunday, 3rd November and the fire is lit at 6.30pm. OR wait until next week and go to the one just up the road at Court Farm.
When you spend the weekend to Herefordshire, you will find there is always something going on in the county! For example, this weekend, if you don’t fancy the food festival, then maybe doing the Halloween trail at Croft Castle would be a good way to pass the time!
