If you’re looking for a wedding venue, you’ll need to take location, budget, amenities and the style of the place into account. Capacity to accommodate your guest numbers is another key factor, as could be closeness to public transport links. Additionally, if you’re planning on tying the knot outdoors, what is the Plan B in case of less-than-idyllic weather?
You may also want to discuss policy on using outside suppliers, what’s included in the wedding package and whether you feel confident in your potential venue’s general ability to manage and host one of the most important days of your life.
Brinsop Court could just tick all the boxes on your checklist. It combines a glorious countryside location with being just 20 minutes from Hereford. For the last decade, the venue has been celebrating love stories, with its historic, picturesque setting making it an idyllic place for your fairytale marriage celebration, whether you’re after a grand affair or something more intimate.
Here are more reasons to make it your venue of choice:
Award-winning
Brinsop Court Manor House and Barn was named the number one UK wedding venue on industry website Hitched in both 2024 and 2025. It was also voted a top 100 venue globally by Condé Nast and Brides magazine.
Exclusive use
You and your guests will have the run of the place for a whole weekend if you choose. This gives you control over your day, with no other events happening at the same time to distract from or interrupt yours. So you’ll enjoy privacy, intimacy and a highly personalised ambience that may not otherwise be possible.
A friendly team
Our expert team is on hand from the moment of first contact, with a helpful, professional and responsive service. We’ll go the extra mile, whether we’re dealing with suppliers or discussing any other logistical aspect, resulting in a hassle-free experience. You’ll find we think of everything and pay meticulous attention to detail, particularly, for example, when it comes to food and drink for the day. We work to bring your vision for a superb dining experience to life, from champagne toasts to canapes, a four-course wedding breakfast and evening food choices. Let us know what your ideas are, and we’ll make them happen.
What’s more, you’ll have a dedicated wedding coordinator with you every step of the way; many of our couples tell us they really value having this single point of contact.
A quirky venue
Our venue is set within an 800-acre estate incorporating a medieval manor house surrounded by water – all against a jaw-dropping backdrop of some of Herefordshire’s most stunning countryside and rolling hills.
As well as the moated, historic house, the venue comprises a working farm complete with crop fields, a 14-acre perry pear orchard and surrounding woodland. Walk along our trails here in privacy; there are no public footpaths.
Accommodation options
When it comes to places to stay for you and your guests, we’ve got you covered. Our luxurious yet cosy cottages are ideal for the night before your wedding, or for extending your time at Brinsop Court afterwards, and to really relax and unwind.
One-bed Ivy Cottage was formerly the gamekeeper’s home and is now a lovingly converted retreat with a private terrace and hot tub. Meanwhile, Wood Cottage is on the edge of our estate on the outskirts of Tillington village and combines rustic and modern features with incredible views.
Meanwhile, our glamping site has tents with proper beds and luxurious linen, coir matting, lighting and more. So you’ll hardly be roughing it!
Alternatively, we have 18 incredibly comfortable bedrooms available to book as part of your package.
Ceremony choices
Again, there are myriad choices for ceremony locations. The Elizabethan Library makes an awe-inspiring backdrop, while our Banqueting Hall, with its soaring, vaulted ceiling, dates from the twelfth century; exchange your vows here in candlelight.
Additionally, our appropriately named Knot Barn is a fabulous space which you could make your own. It blends rustic charm with modern facilities and offers views over our landscaped gardens and open countryside. Meanwhile, the Love Knot lawn at one side leads to delightful woodland.
If you want a religious service, twelfth-century St George’s Brinsop is just two minutes away by car, plus a couple of other churches are nearby.
If your heart is set on getting hitched al fresco, take your pick from two lawns, our ancient (yet well looked after) Courtyard or the timber-framed pergola we offer on our Astley lawn, providing protection from the elements. You could even have a unique and blissfully romantic woodland ceremony under a circle of London Plane trees. We’ll always offer you a Plan B in case the weather on the day isn’t what you would have wanted.
