Herefordshire Mind is a mental health charity which supports some of the most vulnerable in our community.
It provides residential care for a number of people, as well as an Outreach and Community Support programme too. Sadly, demand is increasing and therefore the charity needs help to ensure its vital services continue. We are taking part in many initiatives this year to help where we can.
Mike, our General Manager, took part in a gruelling 43 mile hike at the end of April in the Brecon Beacons in support of the mental health charity.
We hosted a Woodland Walk event here within the Estate at the beginning of May to encourage everyone to enjoy the great outdoors – good for everyone’s health and well-being. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our visitors over £1,200 was raised that day!
Charity Open Gardens Event
On 18 July we opened our gates and doors in support of another local charity doing incredible work in the county, St Michael’s Hospice. We were very proud and honoured to be part of their Open Gardens event that day.
Over 397 visitors enjoyed a lovely, warm welcome at Brinsop Court. They sauntered around the beautiful gardens and grounds, took in some country air and marveled at the views. As part of the visit, everyone was able to go inside and walk around the 12th century country manor house and to take a peak at this renowned Hereford wedding venue. Cake, ice cream and musical entertainment were enjoyed by everyone, so it really was a wonderful summer’s day out for all!
If you were one of our lovely visitors, thank you for coming and supporting such a local good cause.
We are planning to host ‘An Evening With…’ an entertaining and inspirational speaker, including dinner in our Banqueting Hall in aid of Herefordshire Mind in the autumn. Further details will follow, however you can also be assured that there will be another Woodland Walk in May 2020. This event will be even bigger and better, all in aid of Herefordshire Mind, the mental health charity which is truly making positive differences to people’s lives.
