A delightful man, Ian Palmer and his partner David Wicks duly arrived to take up their prize and get to know Brinsop Court Estate and the surrounding area. When I met them they had been installed for three days and were feeling very much at home and content in the “utterly delightful” cottage. As seasoned holiday cottage people they have been in lots of different cottages, many of which are at the high end of the market and their expectations are that a luxury self catering cottage will be nicer than home! They did however assure me that home is really nice! Ivy Cottage lived up to their expectations and they found it relaxing and peaceful, with everything you needed. They particularly enjoyed the enormous bathroom, the hot tub and the very comfortable beds and Ian commented that cooking on the Aga had been “a lovely experience”.
Having never been to Herefordshire to stay before, they’d made the most of their time and explored the local market towns of Leominster, Ledbury and Bromyard as well as taking a trip into Hereford and Weobley. They hadn’t spent much time on Brinsop Court Estate itself, but had taken a walk around the ponds and enjoyed the scenery. They were off to the Weir Garden and onto Hay on Wye but after a recommendation from me decided to pop into Brinsop Church on the way and have a mooch around there first.
