Yes, but please note that the Banqueting Hall is the only room in which candles are allowed. We are happy for candles and night lights to be used outside.

Do we have to book the registrar separately?
Yes, it is a legal requirement that you contact the Registrar separately and ensure they are available to conduct a Civil Wedding Ceremony on the date you have chosen and it is best to do this before you confirm your date with Brinsop Court. Please contact the office for details of the local registrars.
Do you allow candles and night lights?
Do you have an extra-person charge?
Yes, if you would like us to put an extra bed in a room for you, we do levy a charge and for current costs. Please check with the office.
Do you have a reservation waitlist?
Yes, we always inform interested potential guests if their desired date becomes available.
Do you provide tennis racquets and balls? And croquet sets and bicycles?
Yes, we have tennis racquets and balls and croquet sets. We also have bikes, but if you are an enthusiast, bring your own. They can be safely stored in bike racks by the office.
Do you have driving directions?
How much is a taxi from the train station in Hereford?
A taxi from the station is approximately £20. If staff are available, they will come and pick you up.
Do you have parking?
There is unlimited parking at Brinsop.
What are your check in and check out times?
Check in time varies, please contact the office for the correct times.
Is there a restaurant?
Brinsop Court is an exclusive-use country manor house with no restaurant. You have your own kitchen so you can cater for yourselves, however, we can supply details our chosen caterer should you want extra help.
Do you have places to eat nearby?
Yes, The Bell at Tillington is a lovely pub and only about 2 miles away. We also have a Chinese restaurant/takeaway and a fish and chip shop in Credenhill, about 2.5 miles away. There are also plenty of restaurants in Hereford City for you to choose from too.
Are there meeting rooms or banquet facilities?
What features are found in the rooms?
All our bedrooms are different but they are all finished to a very high, uncluttered and contemporary standard. Super king size beds, Egyptian-cotton linen, plenty of towels, TVs and modern bathrooms. Very clean and very comfortable.
Do you have smoking-permitted rooms?
Smoking is only permitted outside the property.
Do you have a hot tub?
Yes, we have a hot tub for six guests located in Dansey courtyard. Guests are welcome to use the hot tub although we do request that you read our disclaimer before entering. At night noise carries a long way so we do ask that you are respectful of our neighbours and keep the noise down and not use the hot tub after 10pm.
Do you have disabled facilities?
Brinsop has a disabled ground floor superking bedroom and wetroom. We have 3 additional en-suite bedrooms suitable for people with limited mobility – all on ground level. We can provide ramps for all stepped areas throughout the ground floor area meaning all 4 wings are accessible for any disabilities, just let us know if you require these.
However, our Library and Banqueting Hall are on the 1st floor level and due to the age of the building and its listed status, there is no lift.
Can I bring my own wedding decorations?
Yes, of course you can! You are welcome to personalise and decorate the various rooms and areas of Brinsop Court to suit your chosen style for your wedding party. Please be aware that as this is a listed building we cannot allow the use of tacks, nails, pins or blue tack to affix anything to the walls and beams. If in doubt, please ask us and we will be happy to help find a solution for you. Please bear in mind that all decorations must be removed prior to your departure.
Are staff available 24 hours a day?
The on-site office is manned from 9am to 5.30pm. There is a 24 hour answer service by the Guest Manager on duty and any ‘Out of Hours’ requests are dealt with by the Duty Staff.
Do you have room service?
We are happy to arrange room servicing at extra cost, with a little notice.
Do you have laundry services?
The property is equipped with complimentary washing and drying machines and washing powder are available. We also have irons and ironing boards in each utility room.
How far away is Hereford?
It is approximately 6 miles to Hereford. Taxi costs about £20. High Town Taxis can be contacted on 01432 354321.
What are the options for music during the ceremony and wedding breakfast?
We can provide a portable Bluetooth speaker for your music around the property and have a Sonos speaker set up in the Banqueting Hall, please discuss your requirements with one of the team.
We can also provide contacts for Music/P.A system hire or musicians who have played at Brinsop before.
Can I bring my dog?
Absolutely! We welcome all well-behaved dogs – they will appreciate lying out in front of the Aga. Our only requests are that they are kept off the furniture, stay downstairs and out of the bedrooms.
Do I need to bring ancillary items such as washing up liquid, loo rolls etc?
No. We provide loo rolls, washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, washing powder, tea towels, refuse sacks and, where applicable, kindling and firewood.
What about bed linen?
We provide 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen, towels and bathrobes.
Do we need to book the tennis court?
The tennis court is open for you to use, we do have limited tennis rackets on site.
What utilities are included?
Electricity, oil, gas, landline telephone (for UK calls only), Freeview and WIFI at no extra cost.
Can we organise a supermarket delivery?
Asda, Sainsbury, Waitrose and Tesco will all deliver to Brinsop. Inform us beforehand, and we will take delivery for you and are happy to store your order away for you if you wish.
Is there a floor plan or room layout for the properties?
How far in advance do we need to book for Christmas and New Year and other ‘popular’ dates?
We do get very booked up and would recommend for popular dates you think about booking at least 12 months in advance.
Are tables and chairs included in the venue hire price?
Yes, we have 12 rectangular trestle tables (6’ x 3’) and round tables (6 x 6ft tables and 2 x 5ft6” tables) you may use. We also have Lloyd Loom chairs and wooden Cheltenham Chairs for you to use.
Following my wedding ceremony can I then bring more guests to Brinsop?
We cater for all but contact the team in advance to arrange this.
Is there a facility to listen to music?
We have iPod docks available as well as a Bose bluetooth speaker.
Do you provide fishing rods?
Yes, but basic equipment. If you are an enthusiast, please feel free to bring your own.
What facilities are there for cooking in the house?
Bailey Wing kitchen is large enough for you to cater for up to 26+. We have a limited supply of large saucepans and serving dishes. There are 2 hostess trolleys for your convenience. There is an Aga in each kitchen and alternative conventional oven. If you are self catering for an evening in the Banqueting Hall it would make life much easier for you if you hired in additional crockery etc from Hampton Hire – our local hire company.
When can we have access to set up/decorate the Banqueting Hall for our wedding?
The bride and groom can access the hall when they check in.
How do we pay?
You can make your deposit and balance payments via bank transfers or by credit card. (Please note, that we don’t accept American Express). To secure your booking, we require a 25% initial payment with the balance payment becoming due 6 to 8 weeks prior to arrival.
What time do we need to finish our celebrations at night?
Live music and/or DJ are both welcome to play in the Games Room for your wedding party entertainment until Midnight.
Service of alcohol is permitted until 11:59pm on the evening of your celebrations.
As we are located in a rural area, we highly recommend pre-booking a taxi for the end of the night.
Is confetti allowed?
Yes, although we ask that the confetti is either natural petals or degradable rather than paper or metal. Petal throwing must take place outside on the lawns, at Tirrell’s front entrance or in the Inner Courtyard. Unfortunately we do not allow confetti cannons or glitter stations at our venue.
Please ensure your wedding party guests are aware of these restrictions.
Do you allow dry ice machines (smoke machines)?
No, we do not allow these on site.
Do you allow fireworks?
Yes, fireworks are allowed by a licensed company and must be by prior arrangement. Displays must be completed before 9.30pm – please speak to us about any exceptions.
Can we release balloons and/or sky lanterns outside?
No, due to our countryside location we cannot permit these.
Where does my wedding car access the venue?
You can be driven right up to the main doors of Brinsop Court in your wedding car.
Do you have a cake stand and cake knife?
Yes, we have a log cake stand, which is 16-17” in diameter, and silver knife you may use.
Can we supply our own wine and champagne?
You can for your drinks reception and wedding meal and we do not charge a corkage fee. Following your wedding meal, our bar will be open for you and guests (cards only).
Is there a minimum number of guests required to make a booking?
No, we don’t set any lower restrictions on the number of guests you invite.
How many guests can we seat for the Civil Ceremony?
Inside ceremonies can be held for up to 70 people in the Library and Banqueting Hall. In the Queen Anne Dining Room we can fit 40 people max with Lloyd Loom chairs and 60 people with Cheltenham chairs. We can seat 70 people in all of our outdoor ceremony locations. If you would like more than 70 guests seated at either your ceremony or Wedding Breakfast please discuss this with the office. We welcome a maximum of 120 evening guests within Brinsop Court and 250 in The Knot.
Will our wedding be the only one at Brinsop Court on our wedding day?
Absolutely – you and your wedding party will have exclusive use for the duration of your booking. By offering you this exclusivity we can ensure that you have our full attention at all times during the preparation and on your big day.
Can we hold a 21st birthday party here?
Please contact the team for more details, we do welcome events but would need to clarify that adults are to be present at all times etc.
Do you provide high chairs and cots for children?
We can provide high chairs and cots if necessary – we do ask you to bring your own bedding for the cots, you can choose when you make your booking.
Do you allow children?
We welcome children here at Brinsop Court. It is important to note that we are surrounded by a moat so children should be properly supervised at all times.
