Whether you are hosting an intimate or a larger, more extravagant event, celebrate your civil or church wedding and reception with our beautiful grade 1 listed moated manor house and romantic English gardens as the backdrop.

With a choice of beautifully appointed period rooms to celebrate in and 800 acres of private estate to enjoy, Brinsop Court offers you a wonderful canvas upon which to create memories to last a lifetime.

Drinks & Canapés

Enjoy canapés and champagne inside in one of our many historic rooms or on our beautifully manicured lawns encircled by the moat upon which our beloved wild swans make their home.

We can help you organise the appropriate music, perhaps a string quartet, harpist or jazz band, arrange for garden games or any other amusing garden entertainment to help set the scene for the celebrations to follow.

Brinsop is not a licenced premises at the moment, and this can be a huge advantage to you, the client, and allow you to make a large saving in your budget. However, please note, any alcohol bought by you, the client, must be given to guests and not sold, and there is a responsibility by the client to monitor sensible and safe drinking.

With this in mind, you can arrange a cash bar as an alternative, with staff to cover, serve and clear.

A mixture of the two options above is usually the best way forward – you can purchase the wine, beer and champagnes you want for the immediate post-ceremony event, and when they run out the cash bar starts.

As a guide, guests will usually drink half a bottle of wine per person. With regard to beer or lager, usually, half the men present will drink about 5 pints!

Wedding Breakfast


Going forward we are delighted to be teaming up with A2Zest as our in-house caterers. They will organise tastings for you, if you wish, and can find a menu that will suit your budget. .

As a rough guide, charges for Wedding Breakfasts usually start at around £40 per head.

We have 3 family kitchens here at Brinsop, all with Agas. We leave a basic breakfast basket in each kitchen for your guests to make a simple snack. You are welcome to add to the fridge supplies if you wish and we will happily receive and put away any grocery deliveries you organise for delivery here prior to your arrival. 

For Friday evenings, groups often elect to have a take-away delivered and we can help you with this – or maybe book a big table at our great local pub – The Bell at Tillington. Or there are also 2 good golf courses within 3 miles with very reasonably priced restaurants.



Celebrate your wedding in a space that suits your occasion. For large parties of up to 96 guests, the Banqueting Hall offers a grand stage upon which to celebrate, while the Library or Queen Anne Room provide a more intimate setting.
A marquee can be erected on the Astley Lawn for large weddings over 100 guests. 

With exclusive use of Brinsop Court, enjoy your evening celebrations.

The best place for dancing is in the Games Room, large enough for up to 120 guests.

There are plenty of spaces away from the dance floor action, inside and out, to relax with friends and family.


If you want more than 96 seated for your wedding breakfast, then the next option is a marquee in the grounds. We charge a ground rent of £2000 for you to erect a marquee. Please note this does not cover the cost of the marquee. As a guide, a fully equipped marquee to fit approx. 140 people, will cost about £10,000. We have good relations with some excellent local marquee, tepee and stretch tent companies. So, lots to consider.


The Games Room is ideal for your dancing and bar, and the perfect place to keep everyone central but placed such that those who don’t want to enjoy the vibes can sit and chat comfortably in The Oak Parlour without feeling isolated.

With music finishing by 12 midnight, and your carriages by 12.30am, at the end of a long happy day our staff should be able to help your guests depart in good spirits but with consideration to our neighbours.
