Frequently Asked Questions
Catering
Do you provide high-chairs for children?
Definitely, we have three available for your use.
Can we bring our own drinks?
We do not offer dry-hire options or our guests to bring their own drinks/alcohol onsite. We have an extensive and competitively priced drinks menu for pre-order which saves you all the effort! All pre-order wines are on a ‘sale or return’ basis. Even if it’s not on the list our Bar Manager will be able to see if we can source it for you! We also have two Brinsop Bars, with no opening charges.
Can we have half bespoke half standard wedding breakfast?
Yes, absolutely. If you have in mind a particular starter, main or dessert that you have your heart set on for your special day then please speak to us and we can make that happen.
When do we need to have our catering information in by?
The deadline for catering information is 6 weeks before your wedding, however we would always recommend around 8 weeks so we have time to iron out any questions you may have.
Do you offer tastings?
Yes, we run tasting events on specific dates, and they cost £50 per person to attend. These all have different menus so talk to the catering department about the dates and which menu would be available. Each tasting events includes full canapes, wine tasting and the menu on offer.
How do you cater for different allergies?
We take allergies very seriously so we ask all the couples to fill in a detailed catering document listing each guests’ full names, allergies and where they will be sitting on the day so all the catering team can track where certain guests are. We also operate a nut free environment here at Brinsop, meaning we do not hold any whole nuts on site although some products are produced in a factory that handles nuts.
How many canapes would you recommend per person?
Depending on the length of drinks reception, the average is around 3 canapes per person.
How long does a wedding breakfast usually last?
A three-course wedding breakfast for between 50-80 guests would last around 1 hour and a half.
When would you recommend speeches to take place?
When you deliver your speech is completely up to you but from experience, after your wedding breakfast is the most suitable.
My suppliers need feeding. What do you do?
So, for supplier meals there are a couple of options. You can opt for them to have a full wedding breakfast menu which would come in at the same price as your chosen wedding breakfast. Alternatively, you can go for a supplier main meal, which would be your chosen main course, served after you, this is 50% of your chosen wedding breakfast cost.
Bar
Will the bar be open during our drink’s reception?
As standard we open the bar alongside the drinks reception in case a guest wishes to purchase something outside the agreed package, but it can remain closed on request.
How long should the drinks reception be?
There is no set time limit, but 90 minutes to two hours is a general rule of thumb
If we don’t want a welcome drink for our guests, can we use it elsewhere?
Absolutely, it can be merged with the reception drinks or even used in the evening
How many drinks do guests receive within the drink’s packages?
Package 1 consists of one welcome drink, two reception drinks and a glass of prosecco for the toast, so four drinks in total. Package 2 includes one welcome drink, three reception drinks and a glass of Champagne for the toast, so five drinks in total. Alternatively create a bespoke package a decide how many drinks you wish to provide
How many bottles of prosecco do I need for 100 guests?
A bottle will provide 6 glasses, so for 100 guests you will need 18 bottles to provide everyone with one drink, but please bear in mind some will require a non-alcoholic alternative.
